Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has dismissed dire warnings from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei about AI-driven job losses, saying the executive may not be entirely correct and the rise in AI will likely lead to the creation of "many jobs."

Huang, at a press event in Paris, said he "pretty much disagree[d] with almost everything" Amodei has said about AI, according to Fortune.

Amodei, in a recent interview with Axios, predicted AI could automate up to 50 per cent of all entry-level white-collar jobs within five years. He called on lawmakers to act now to protect workers.

Huang conceded that AI will change jobs but rejected the notion of widespread unemployment. "Some jobs will be obsolete, but many jobs are going to be created," he said.

He also criticised Amodei's broader stance on AI, accusing him of promoting a vision in which "AI is so scary that only they should do it" and "so expensive, nobody else should do it."

A spokesperson for Anthropic, however, told Fortune that Amodei "has never claimed that 'only Anthropic' can build safe and powerful AI."

Amodei, a former OpenAI executive, has repeatedly warned about potential existential threats from advanced AI, including bioweapons, cyberattacks, and the loss of human control. Anthropic, founded in 2021, positions safety at the core of its mission.

Huang's remarks came after Nvidia's GTC Paris conference, where the company unveiled a partnership with French startup Mistral and announced plans for more than 20 AI factories across Europe to address regional computing needs.
