Apple will open its fourth retail store in India next week, with Apple Koregaon Park in Pune set to launch on Thursday, September 4 at 1 pm local time.Â
The new outlet follows the opening of Apple's Bengaluru store two days earlier and adds to its existing locations in Mumbai and New Delhi.
"Namaskar, Pune," Apple said in its announcement for the store. "The first Apple Store in the city opens its doors soon. We can't wait to see your vibrant ideas come to life at Apple Koregaon Park."
The store branding uses a peacock-feathered Apple logo, the same design introduced for the Bengaluru outlet, with themed wallpapers available on Apple's website.
The expansion comes amid India's growing appetite for iPhones, which has at times led to chaotic scenes. In September 2023, delivery delays for the iPhone 15 sparked a clash with the shop staff in Delhi.Â
Despite high demand, iPhones remain far more expensive in India than in other markets.Â
The iPhone 16 Pro (256 GB) sells for Rs 1,19,900 in India, compared to about Rs 86,500 in the US, a gap of over Rs 30,000. The iPhone 15 (128 GB) is priced at Rs 79,900 in India versus roughly Rs 66,300 in the US, while even the lower-cost iPhone 16e (128 GB) costs Rs 59,900 locally compared to Rs 51,970 in America.
The difference persists even though India has become a major production hub for Apple.Â
In the 12 months ending March 2025, the company manufactured iPhones worth about USD 22 billion in the country, nearly 20 per cent of its global output.Â
The current iPhone 16 lineup is entirely assembled in India, including the premium Pro models, and in the first half of this year alone, factories produced 23.9 million units.
Apple launched its online store in India in 2020, followed by its first two physical outlets in 2023.Â
