Elon Musk, X sued by former CNN presenter over broken deal

Former CNN star presenter Don Lemon has sued Elon Musk and his company X over the cancellation of a talk show deal.

The lawsuit states that Elon Musk and his company 'X' unfairly ended a partnership with Don Lemon and refused to pay him after using his name to promote the social media platform with advertisers, according to BBC.

"The lawsuit alleges fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and misappropriation of name and likeness," said a post on the Facebook page of the law firm representing Lemon, Shegerian & Associates, according to BBC.

The lawsuit was filed with the California Superior Court in San Francisco and alleged that Musk's company 'X' had agreed to pay Don Lenon $1.5 million, along with a share of advertising revenue generated by his content.

The filing claims that Musk and his company used "false promises and representations" to help convince Lemon to agree to the partnership only to cancel it after he had spent dollars on creating the show.

However, the deal collapsed abruptly in March after the recording of the first episode, which featured an interview with Elon Musk.

After the end of the deal, Muck wrote on X that Lemon's approach "was basically just 'CNN, but on social media,’ which doesn’t work, as evidenced by the fact that CNN is dying."

Lenon, a popular prime-time personality, was fired from CNN last year after 17 years of work. Musk then approached him on X for collaboration.
