Instagram has launched a new feature that will allow users to add a song on their profile, according to a post on X.
The music will show up in the user's bio area, according to screenshots shared by Instagram. Â
The song, however, won't autoplay, like it did on Myspace, the original 2000's website to have boasted the feature. People viewing a profile with a song can play and pause the track.
Users can add a song by going to the "Edit Profile" page, where they can search for and select a track from Instagram's library of licensed music, and upload a 30-second-long cut of the song.
Instagram is launching the feature in collaboration with pop star Sabrina Carpenter of "Espresso" chartbuster.Â
Carpenter's official Instagram profile will have from Thursday onward a teaser of her song "Taste," ahead of her album release on Friday.Â
Instagram is also adding a few hidden features themed around Carpenter’s upcoming album, 'Short n' Sweet'.
