Salesforce launches own AI suite, terms Co-pilot, other chatbots 'outdated'

Voltaire Staff

CRM provider Salesforce on Tuesday launched an "autonomous" AI suite for businesses, claiming it will help employees across service, sales, marketing, and commerce functions.

The suite, named Agentforce, has the sophistication of a self-driving car, retrieves the right data on demand, builds action plans for any task, and executes them without requiring human intervention, the company in a statement said.

The firm also claimed that widely used co-pilots and chatbots are now outdated because they rely on human requests and struggle with complex or multi-step tasks.

The digital workforce of "AI agents" can analyse data, make decisions, and answer customer service inquiries, qualify sales leads, and optimise marketing campaigns, it said.

Marc Benioff, the chairman and chief executive of the company, termed the suite the "third wave of AI".
