Several Macau government websites were hacked, leading to a criminal investigation to find the source of the crime.

According to Reuters, which cited Chinese state media reports, security officials of the Macau Special Administrative Region’s government said several websites were hacked, including that of the office of the secretary for security, the fire services department, the public security police, and the security forces services bureau.

According to a report by CCTV, officials think the source of the violation was from overseas.

Authorities carried out an emergency response with telecommunication operators to restore the services immediately, reports said.
